What do the Eiffel Tower, the driver Sebastian Vettel, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and the Italian Rugby Federation have in common? All their websites - as well as those of many other important people, companies and institutions around the world - were created with Joomla!, one of the most well-known and used Content Management Systems (CMS).

In Italy there are over 20,000 companies that already use this tool to develop and manage their websites.

These days there is great anticipation for Joomladay on November 12, 2016 in Rome. Among the many new features that will be discussed during the event there is also the Joomla! certification, which has arrived in our country for the first time: for the thousands of people who use Joomla! every day, or who are interested in discovering it, new job opportunities could open up.

Everyone in Rome for JoomlaDay

The Italian Joomla! community – the Open Source CMS software born in 2005 from a collaboration between developers from all over the world – meets on November 12th at the Antonianum Auditorium in Rome for the 9th edition of Joomladay (this year the theme of the event is "Joomla! A new beginning in Italy").

The organizers expect the arrival of over 800 entrepreneurs, professionals or simple enthusiasts ready to exchange ideas, experiences and useful information: after all, sharing and collaboration have always been at the basis of the Open Source philosophy.

Participation in the event is as always free thanks to the collaboration of the sponsors (but it is mandatory to register because places are limited – read here).

Joomla! is certified for the world of work During the Rome event, some important community news will be presented, in particular related to the use of Joomla! in the world of work.

The most important change concerns the possibility of taking Joomla! certification exams. 3.x Administrator: an absolute novelty for Italy. Thanks to the work of corsodijoomla.it, the official Learning Partner of Joomla!, the first official exam session in our country took place on 15 October in the Pisa headquarters of Welcome Italia, the telecommunications company for businesses. During Joomladay in Rome another 20 people will have the opportunity to take the exam (here is the link to register).

This is important news for website developers, web agencies and industry professionals. Every year in Italy 1500 people are trained to work with the platform

Joomla!: with certification for the first time it will be possible to receive official recognition that can be easily spent on the job market.

An appeal for businesses Among the other news of Joomladay 2016 there will also be the launch of a sponsorship program dedicated to businesses interested in supporting the Joomla! project. The CMS platform is developed according to the Open Source philosophy: the code is accessible to everyone and therefore can be modified freely. The software can also be downloaded at no cost.

Supporters' contributions are therefore essential to support the continuous improvement of programs and extensions, the production and translation of training materials and, of course, the dissemination of the Joomla! project.

By joining the project, companies will be able to gain visibility in an international community that has millions of users and at the same time will have the opportunity to invest in a product useful for their growth.

A growing community The Italian Joomla community is the largest in the world, with around 100,000 members. There are over 20,000 companies that use Joomla for their sites. In Italy Joomla is the most used CMS in the Public Administration with over 2900 sites, 21% of the total.

From this year, leadership has passed to Colt Engine, a Turin-based company specializing in hosting and domain registration services (recently entered into the Welcome Italia group) which manages the brands dnshosing.it, joomlahost.it and colt.academy and which has always actively supported the Joomla! project.

"Supporting the project means investing in your business – explains Marco Mangione, CEO of Colt Engine and Community manager of Joomla! Italia – a structured and organized community will allow us to increase the diffusion of the software that allows thousands of businesses to work every day. By investing in the Joomla! project we are simply investing in the future of our business that uses Joomla!. By being part of a community, we can also share ideas to improve the software and in some way make our contribution to improving the world".
