How long does a migration take?
Timing depends on site size and data volume. A single migration with the Migration Tool usually takes from a few minutes to a few hours. For a Bulk Migration with multiple domains, the Host.it team agrees a dedicated maintenance window with you.
Does the site stay online during migration?
Yes. The transfer runs on a copy of the site. Only when DNS is updated is traffic redirected to the new Host.it hosting. Actual downtime is therefore minimal and plannable.
What happens to my data during the transfer?
Files and database are copied via secure FTP with verified transfer. The Migration Tool runs an integrity check during upload and an antivirus scan on received files, reducing risks before go-live.
Can I migrate from any provider?
The Migration Tool works with major hosting providers. You need to provide FTP credentials and database access details from the source provider. The Host.it team reviews special setups case by case.
Does Bulk Migration have extra costs?
Bulk Migration is a dedicated service for resellers and agencies moving multiple sites. Cost and planning details are agreed with Host.it Customer Care before starting.
What does the antivirus check verify?
During App Transfer, the Migration Tool automatically scans copied files for malware, backdoors and malicious scripts. If anything is found, the transfer is paused and the customer is notified before go-live.
