Where are we? The 2.5.x version is now consolidated and conquers 45.28% compared to previous versions while the latest 3.x is starting to make its presence felt with a good 20.3%. Version 1.5.26.j still maintains a good percentage (30.19%) but is continuously decreasing.

We took around 30 thousand sites as a sample and noted, compared to the latest published statistics, some important variations shown in the graph below:

The 3.x version is constantly increasing. The data extracted is decidedly positive: compared to the last survey, the percentage of users using versions 1.5. friendly.

The percentage of versions 1.0, 1.6 and 1.7 is decreasing, we remind you that their use is highly discouraged as they contain known security flaws and exploiting the vulnerabilities of an outdated Joomla!® site is relatively simple, paradoxically the instructions are easily found online.

For those who use a version prior to 3.x, JoomlaHost.it intends to have its customers maintain all versions of the CMS, without any forced migration operations, allowing planning for subsequent versions with complete peace of mind.

We recommend all those who use versions such as 1.0-1.5.x- 1.6- 1.7 and 2.5.x since last January and for production sites to plan the migration towards version 3.4.1, which is currently stable.

We remind you that community support for version 2.5.x ended last December 2014, this means that no more fixes or updates will be released, not even for security flaws.
